Does anybody know if it's possible to unlock all of the cars in the homicide free roam? Or are there cars that are only available in vice/arson free roams? I only have homicide available to me now.

Finding all cars is kind of a pain. I'm at 70 I think now and I'm only finding a new one every 10-15 minutes. I don't know how they expect you to find all of the gold reels. They aren't even in significant places.

So far I'm kind of weary of the game...I'm 7 things in, and I'm having a real hard time telling if people are lying or not. They'll act all shady and shit and I'll call them out and get it wrong. Only real complaint besides that is cars handle like shit. Would've loved GTA IV or even Mafia II handling.

If they're acting shady (fidgeting, twitching, avoiding eye contact) and you haven't got proof to call them out on a lie, then it's "doubt".

If they're acting strange, and they tell you something that directly contradicts evidence you have against them, then it's a lie.

If they maintain steady eye contact, it's the truth.

Finished it last night.

I was kind of shocked by Cole's death. I found him to be quite a likeable character, and although I toyed with the idea that he might be killed off at the end, I didn't actually think it would happen. Bummed me out a bit.

Also, if you plan on getting the trophies/achievements, I'd try to do as much as possible in the early/mid stages of the game. Once you reach the arson desk, the game starts wrapping up pretty quickly. So if you want to drive all the cars, find all the newspapers & film reels, drive 194 miles, side missions, etc, etc, I'd do it on the first play through. Because once you beat it, the only save you can go back to is one that drops you right in the middle of an action scene at the final case, at which point you can't do anymore side missions or anything.

Once you beat the game, if you go to Cases from the main menu you can select a free roam under each desk, so you can complete any partner-specific side missions and still drive around and find cars, film reels, etc. You don't need to do this during the course of the main game if you don't want to.

This is how I wrapped up the side missions, which I mostly ignored during my playthrough.

Oh, sweet! I didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I'll get a few more hours out of it.

Yeah, I finally finished the Homicide Desk last night and I think I'm going to have start skipping the side missions from now on. I'm spending too much time driving around L.A.!

When you go back and do free roam, does it save your stats from the story mode? Like, will it have it saved that I've driven like..42 cars and driven..80 miles or whatever?

Yes. If you pull up Statistics while in a Free Roam you'll see all of your progress from the main game, including % complete.

Finished this last night and really didn't like the ending .I didn't even bother with the PS3 DLC and honestly, I don't want to. I didn't hate the game but it felt like they cut a lot of corners with the story and it started to get repetitive and I just wanted to finish it. Luckily, it's still $30ish at Amazon trade-ins.

There's already murmurs of a sequel. :hmm:

A bit disappointed with this game. It goes by fast, and there's really nothing else to do than the main story. It kinda reminds me of a Wii system when it first came out. Interesting, but needs alot of work with future iterations to actually be fun and have more content.

As I get closer to the end of the game I'm noticing more that when I call someone out for lying, Cole accuses them of something that had nothing to do with what we were talking about.

for example:
Cole: you know Reginald Varley?
Clemens: Can't say I do.
(I have a employee list that proves that he works with him, so I call him out on a lie)
Cole: You have a real viper's nest at Instaheat, don't you. Arsonists, murderers and communists...
Clemens: What's that got to do with me? You can't prove that I'm behind all that.
(then it goes to my evidence book)

WTF? That has nothing to do with what he said earlier!

I'm also doing a case right now where I went to certain places in the wrong order I guess. It suddenly went from 7:30pm driving into a store to 11:30 am at my next stop. I went into the store and it was getting dark out, I came out and it was sunny again.

Take Two called it a 'powerful new franchise' in an earnings call yesterday so I think a sequel is a given.

Team Bondi also came up with more cases then they could fit in the game so DLC is a given too. Expect an announcement next week.

Dang that's too bad. I don't pay for DLC ever. Looks like I'll miss out.

I'm at 27 hours and still haven't finished the main story.

I'm having a blast just driving around town right now in freeroam trying to kill pedestrians. It's a lot harder in this game so it's so much more satisfying. In GTAIV I can run over and kill hundreds in minutes in some spots.

Well I just finished the game. I have 100% completion, and 1000/1000 achievements. I still have the Slip of the Tongue to finish though. Took me 38 hours.

dayum... I just got to the 3rd disc and I'm struggling to get through it at this point

I just have no desire to play through it. I'm constantly frustrated by the sloppy direction and "clue paths" you're supposed to find. Some cases are better than others, but the one I just finished had me so infuriated that I'll probably sell it unfinished. One question in particular almost had my controller through the wall after I looked up a guide about what clue I was supposed to use. It had absolutely no connection with this particular person as of yet, and there were several other clues that would have been much better in revealing the lie. I can't believe they made it so linear when it could have obviously been made to apply to several clues.

I'm at case "The Lipstick Murder" (Well finished it) and I don't know...having trouble getting into it tbh.

I agree with you Gor. I feel like I'm actually trying to solve the mystery, and I'm actually interpreting the characters' body language and movements and telling from my perspective if they are lying or not. I'll say doubt or something, and he'll go "YOU KILLED HIM DIDN'T YOU" and I'm like calm the fuck down dude....I don't know, not exactly as I expected it to be, and really linear. And that is saying a lot because I like linear games a lot of the time...

Holy shit. Nicely done. I finished the story mode, got a few other trophies, and called it good for now. I played it every day for about 8 days until I finished it, and I'm pretty burnt out on it. Once the PSN store comes back up I'll get the DLC, and maybe try for some more trophies.
