L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa warns ICE

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is asking federal officials to rethink their policy on workplace immigration crackdowns that involve established businesses and to focus on employers that mistreat workers instead.

Villaraigosa accused federal officials of targeting "established, responsible employers" in industries that rely on "workforces that include undocumented immigrants."

With idiots like the LA Mayor being elected illegal immigration will never ever be fixed. I mean classifying businesses that are knowingly hiring illegal immigrants which is illegal as ?responsible employers? and stating it in such a way that he obviously thinks this practice is 100% legit is just asinine!

He's just saying what his constituents want to hear. They elected him.

Miami is even worse.

Not surprising...Villaraigosa's background is in the labor right's movement in California, which consists largely of migrant workers...because the labor demographic in California continues its reliance on "undocumented workers", it is no surprise that he would side with protecting labor on this issue.

As the results in Arizona demonstrate, a clear solution towards solving the illegal immigration problem is to aggressively target those businesses that employ them, to include "established, responsible employers"...whatever that means.

Los Angeles companies such as clothing manufacturer American Apparel Inc. have reported being questioned by ICE officials about their hiring procedures.
Ha ha ha...classic.

No surprise coming from a guy that was chairman of a chapter of MEChA, supported La Raza and the creation of Aztlan.

He needs to STFU. It sounds like ICE is doing their job as it should be done. ICE is not in existence to focus on employers that mistreat workers, that's the job of the Dept of Labor.
