Since it seems the odds of getting a Radeon SE are pretty good now, would you go with a Kyro II with TV out or a 64meg Radeon VIVO? I want a good all around card that I can keep for awhile. This will be going in a 1 ghz Tbird @ 1.4 with 256 megs ram @ cas2.

I don't know much about the Kyro but I like my Radeon 64mb w/ VIVO. Its fairly cheap, powerful, has better 2d than my Geforce DDR and I can record TV or movies on it.

For a good all-round card you can't beat a Radeon. It's pretty good at everything.

If you use the VIVO features, get the radeon.
If you only use tv-out a whole lot, get the Kryo II.
If you are looking for ONLY gaming performance get the Kryo II.

I wouldent mind a radeon purley because of the ATI DVD player. it is very nice. the VIVO one would also let you watch movies on tv...

You can hook your VCR to the video-in of the Radeon and watch TV/movies on your comp as well.

That's a no-brainer. Radeon 64 VIVO, for sure. You get superb 2D/3D quality and VIVO features. Kyro II is too expensive. For a few dollars more get the Radeon (preferably the SE version with 5ns chips, if you can find it) and be happy. The latest Win2K drivers aren't great, but they work pretty well. You get hardware DVD with Radeon as well, which is a big plus.
