I orded a Kyro2 w/out TV-Out from newegg. I got the card today and it looks like it has tv out. I am not 100% sure tho (maybe 90%).

Reasons why it looks like it:
1) has Kyro2 64MB TV-Out silkscreened on card :)
2) Has a ps/2 looking extra conector onback of card
3) Comes wirh a ps/2 looking to s-video little cable

Reasons why I am not 100% sure:
1) I ordered the normal one, not sure newegg loves me that much
2) Looks like a chip is missing on the left side of the board, kinda like how an abit-kt7 has 3 little solder points where the raid version gains stuff. So maybe my card dosnt have a tv-out chip or something?

I am at work... cant wait to get hooooome. If I do indeed have tv-out, what resolution will work best on a standard tv. 800 by 600 or what? I forgot tv's native res.

That PS/2-looking connector is for the TV-out. If it's there then you have the TV-out version of the card. Looks like newegg really does like you that much! ;)

well, if it has another connector other than the VGA output then it is a TV out version. Svideo connector, looks similar to a PS2 connector

Sweeeeeet.

I bet it looks crappy tho on TV.

Anyone know native res of a tv, or what looks best of the normal choices? My friend said 800 by 640 looks bad, and 800 by 600 leaves less black space on the sides. Obviously a tv is not the same aspect ratio as a monitor, but I wonder what res it looks best at.

The native resolution of TVs depends on where you live.

The US and Canada are NTSC which is effectively 640x480.
Europe and some other areas are PAL which is effectively 800x600.

IIRC ;)

Just wondering, does the OEM version come with card only?

Also, does the Kyro II have DVD hardware decoding?

Yep, just the card and a CD with the drivers. The retail version includes a pretty box and a copy of Myst III.

The DVD quality on the Kyro II is pretty good. It's a little behind ATI cards, but as good as most nVidia-based cards.

I got the kyro2 card, a dongle for the tv out in the back, a CD with Kyro2 drivers, and a CD with POWERDVD. This is all OEM from newegg.
