Kyro 2 overclocking

Is there an article out there that overclocks the kyro 2? Or does anyone have experience overclocking the card? Thanks.

Charles

Theres a couple of 'Extreme Overclocking' articles out there, but they involve modding the card; look through the IXBT-Labs KYROII reviews to to that. The easiest way of overclocking KYROII without mods is to open the windows registry and searc for CorePLLFreq2, up the value next to that and reboot - most people can squeeze about an extra 10Mhz out of it, some up to 20 or 25.

The leaked Beta's that are floating about have an overclocking slider on them which doesn't require a reboot when used.

There are quite a few sites that offer Kyro/KyroII overclocking tools. Search your favorite 3D-type site for one. Dont expect a high OC from it,maybe an extra 5-10 avg; higher OC'ers are lucky and getting better voltage to the core(tests have shown wide variance)YMMV. For extreem OC'ing there is a resistor mod to shunt more voltage to the core.

EDIT: From looking at MadOnion compairs they seem to get more from a high FSB than they do from an OC.

Keep in mind that the K2 should not offer high gains from OC. All of the other cards are greatly limited by the Memory Bandwidth. By OC the Memory, you see some nice gains from the GF serries. The k2 is not limited by the Memory bandwidth as much as fill rate. And its core is running at the same speed as its memory which means small gains from OC. Also heat dose not seem to be the detremining factor in OC as much as it is with CPUs or other video cards....
