Hi folks;

I am considering a new budget video card, and I think I'll go for either a Kyro 1 or Kyro 2-based card from Hercules or Videologic. My current video card is a TNT2.
But I have a relatively old motherboard, based upon an Intel 440BX-chipset.
(Dell Dimension XPS R350 system with Tualatin Celeron 1.2Ghz)

So before I buy one, I woul like to know if any of you have had any good/bad experiences with these video cards on a BX-mobo.
Please share you experiences.
Thanks! :):)

I have a Kyro I (Herc 4000xt) running on an Asus P3B-f with Win2k. No problems as far as I can tell. Can't see why a Kyro II would be any different.

I would think so long as the mobo says it's AGP slot is 1.5/3.3 volt compatable, it would work. If just 3.3, I don't think it would, but I might have it backwards as to which voltage it needs.

The cards should work, don't even think of a kyro 1. The kyro 2 isn't the greatest, just too old. With the price of the radeons and gf3s being close to budget, I don't see why not to get one of those, your cpu is somewhat fast, don't waste it.

That's probably true if you live in the US or Canada but the person who created this thread lives in Europe where the Kyro 2 is still very good value for money.

If it's a choice between a Kyro and Kyro 2, go for the Kyro 2, it's alot faster than the Kyro!
