I remember back in the day I played a game called "Kyrandia" You were this dude named Brandon who went around teh woods loooking for stuff, I dont really rememeber. but it was a classic Westwood game. Anyone else ever play it?
 
Yep it was just before the death of those types of games. They were turning into "roam the mouse until something is clickable and you win" games so I'm glad they died. This one was ok, I guess. Nice music if I remember correctly. But it was more like a refined version of a genre that thankfully died.

I should note that they appear to be considering rising from the grave and living off the flesh of MMORPGs.
 
i don't remember if they made a sequel or not, but there were a lot of games similar to it. anyone remember the kings quest series??

there were actually three games in the kyrandia series, there was an evil jester called malcolm if i remember correctly that the was the series' main antagonist.

the first game was called legend of kyrandia.

i defintly rmeber the kings quest series, i played kq3 a ton.

These games were better than the king's quest games of the same time. The KQ games really were the roam mouse until you can click games at that time. I remember one game in particular, where you had to go into some evil mansion, and do something which did not work for me due to some bug in the game. I had to restart wayyy back and do some early portion again.

Still, the king's quest games were fun, no doubt.

Wasn't there some KQ game where you had to choose one of three character classes and you gained skill? Kind of a rudimentary rpg?
 
Oh man...I have no idea. I just remember seeing that name on a box down cellar....

I don't meet the requirements...no floppy. 🙁

still have the game in the original box in the cabinet next to my desk, (yep, I like those old games, have ultima6 too (right before they turned to the guardian crap))
