KVMs and Wireless Keyboards

I've seen a little discussion regarding the use of KVMs and wireless keyboards, but it always seems to be somebody who is doing something to make it work. Is it necessary to always tweak the system? Are we trying to make the devices do something it isn't designed to do? Or should it work out of the box?

I have a standard Microsoft wireless keyboard and wheel-mouse and a Belkin 4-port KVM. Should these work together? Out of the box?

Thanks!

its not a good idea, KVM switches weren't really meant for home use anyhow. i use wired PS/2 products to work with my 4 port switch. using anything USB, nevermind wireless isn't really suggested either. the product was never meant for that. my best suggest would be to hook up the wireless stuff to the main pc and use PS/2 for the secondary machines.

edit: many new KVM switches support USB port switching too, but that might get annoying if you want to switch between computers quickly.
