Question KVM switches in 5-7 seconds

I need to share one 4K, 60 Hz monitor, keyboard and mouse between two PCs.
So I bought a Ugreen HDMI KVM switch that supports 4K @ 60 Hz, 1 monitor, 2 computers.

The KVM works fine but there are delays for the monitor to display when switching PCs as follows:
- Switch from Win10 PC to Win 11 PC: Monitor goes black for 5 seconds, then the Win11 desktop displays.
- Switch from Win11 PC to Win10 PC : Monitor goes black for 7 seconds, then the Win10 desktop displays.

I assume that the delay to display is being caused by the HDMI handshaking to complete.

Using a DisplayPort KVM switch, is there a similar handshaking protocol that would result in the same delayed switching time?

I have a few KVM's and the switch over is always sketchy. Sometimes I have switch back and forth a couple times so I think it's just a characteristic of the switches.

They all seem to have a delay of some sort but some are better than others.

I have several TESmart KVMs in use across different systems and they are fairly fast. The only downside with them is they all seem to loose ports after a while, so get the 4 port version even if you only need 2 ports, because the ports just randomly die. Apparently the newer versions don't do that, according to their support... for what it's worth lol.

Already got a 2 port version so will see what happens. So far, so good.
