KVM Switches...any recommendations before I buy?

I'm about to buy a KVM switch so I don't have to buy a second monitor and all that. I'm looking at this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817107246

I'm looking for one that will work with an LCD that has a VGA plug...so I don't think I'll have to worry about striping or quality loss. Can anyone comment on this KVM, or recommend a better one within the same price range?

Newegg has another Trendnet switch that got 100+ reviews and was at 5-6 stars, but several comments said it had LCD issues so I opted for this one.

Any KVW should work fine with your monitor. I have no problems with my Samsung LCD monitor on my KVM.

The most problematic item with a KVM is the mouse or pointing device. KVM's are primiarly designed for servers, thus the pointing devices are typically just a 2 or 3 button mouse. I had go to back to a basic scroll mouse to co-exist with 4 PC's connected to my KVM. I tried several before I settled with the one I have, but video was never the issue

Word to the wise: If you care about video quality, ditch the VGA cable that will come with the KVM, and buy/use a good quality one(s). This is the biggest difference maker when working with KVM's & video quality.

Agreed. But in all honesty, ditch the vga switch alltogether. I use a KVM but only for my mouse & keyboard to swap between my linux server box and my windows machine. Luckily my LCD has both vga and dvi - I use vga for linux box and dvi for windows.
