KVM Switch Hybrid?

I was wondering if anyone knew if something like this existed...

I work on a lot of computers, and this would be ideal for me to set up.

|Tower to be | ____KVM--------------Cat5/Wireless-----------|Network Switch|---

And then, through the network, open a "Remote Session" to the KVM switch. It would kinda be like Remote Desktop, but be hardware based so that BIOS and Linux would be supported and without any software installation(a la KaVoom!).

Anyone heard/seen anything like this?

Off the top of my head, you could go with something called a "Remote Insight Board" - it's a PCI board that we use in our servers here at the place I intern at to power on and off, monitor the status of, and at *any* time remote into our servers over the network. I'm not sure if they'll work on non-Compaq regular PCs though, since I've never seen them used elsewhere. You can find some on eBay (I've considered buying one myself, but don't have any PCI slots open! 😛)
