KVM/Optical mouse question

I have a Linksys Proconnect 4 port KVM and a Dexxa Optical mouse. The computers keep losing the mouse but if I use
a logitech ball mouse, no problems. Is this just a problem with KVM's and optical mice or is there something
else I can try? All drivers have been updated and the mouse works fine connected directly to the computers.
