KVM: Linksys KVM2KIT or IOGEAR MiniView GCS62?
I'm not window shopping, I really need to do this.

I need a kvm for when I'm building or repairing a desktop next to MY pc.

I suppose either is good and a rebate would make my choice for me, but... which would you get if you were me?

I don't know if it matters, but besides being cheap, the hardware I typically use is:
17" LCD
MS Optical mice (USB with a PS/2 converter), but my new pc will have more than enough USB ports.
PS/2 MS Natural (the cheap one) keyboard

Someday I may set up a linux box for a server, too.

I am currently using the IOGear GCS62 2port KVM. I love it. Works great. No problems. Using it with a 15" LCD, MS Optical Mouse Blue USB (with USB converter) and Microsoft Natural Keyboard with USB hub without any problems.

I give this KVM an A++

Thanks for the reply; I'm gonna place my order for one now.

Longer cables are not a big plus if your computers are side by side

I've had both long and short and I like my linksys with the shorter cables

Also the picture looks just a smidgen sharper with the short cables. May be all in my head though.

I'm pretty sure Linksys and IOGEAR use the same internals, I think ATEN is the company that makes them.

As long as it is not a belkin POS you should be fine.

How long are the cables of the IOgear? I may just shove my pc under the table for more work room. As for video quality, does that also apply to DVI?
