KVM issue - MS mouse wheel does not work

I have a Compaq KVM self powered that i personally pulled from an old rackmount setup. I've had it for a while and ever since I got it the mouse wheel never worked. I tried the original Windows drivers (98, 2000, and XP). I have also tried the ones from MS intellipoint with no luck. I've looked through the forum archives with nothing describing this issue. Im short of just trying new cables, but i want to post and see if anyone could offer some advice. Thanks in advance to all those who could help out.

One of the KVM's I bought a while ago, said that it was wheel mouse compatible. Which would lead me to believe that some may not be.

Depending on the model KVM switch, you may have to
update the firmware to correct the Wheel mouse emulation.

Doubt that it is the cable.

it's usually a driver issue. if you plug, and unplug your mouse, you will find certain features broken depending on what mouse you have.

I am using the optical intellimouse USB through the USB to PS/2 connector, i have tried standard win drivers and the intellimouse drivers off MS site.. no luck. i have also tried 2 other MS non-optical mouses standard PS/2, same issue... i have done literally every possible combination... this sucks 🙁
