I have a question that I'd like to finally be able to figure out the root cause. I have been using a Windows XP Pro machine with an NVIDIA 9400GT 512MB Video Card on a UXGA monitor (1600x1200). When I move that hard disk drive from that machine to an identical machine hooked up to a 19" SXGA (1280 x 1024) monitor hooked up through a KVM extender switch, the monitor says signal out of range.
The fix would be to set the screen resolution on the first PC to 1280 x 1024 or below, and it works when I move the hard disk drive to the other PC.
Does anyone know the root cause to this behavior?
