I little while ago purchased an abit KV8 pro and an AMD64 3400+, initially ther was a problem with temperatures, i fixed it with some bio updates, but now it seems the temperatures have shot up again to about 50c idle and whilst playing a game it goes up to 75c where the mobo alarm goes off. But my heatsink temperature probe reads about 40c
I have a glacialtech igloo lite HSF
could the problem be something to do with the heatsink or mobo? I suspect its the heatsink not having a good contact with the cpu or sumthing but i'm afraid of pulling the heatsink out to check because it seems to be stuck.
any suggestions or ideas?
