My KV7 runs consistently above 50C even though I have added an extra case fan to my Antec SLK2600AMB. I have the Athlon Barton 2500 with the retail fan. System is not overclocked. Has anyone resolved this problem?

I would take the CPU/Fan off and give it a good cleaning - recoat it with Artic Silver (CPU) and reinstall it. Sounds like it may have a bad CPU/Heatsink bond with the thermal solution. THis somerimes happens when the HS unit itself is "twisted" while installing, and thus is slightly offset. Also be sure that the board you have has acurrate temps reading from wherever you are reading the temps from.

Asus boards usually read about 10C hot anyway. Plus, if you're not overclocking, I wouldn't worry about it. Only if it peaks 60 or 65 should you worry.

I would agree, however I have set up many Asus boards, and not all of them run 10c hot. Most don't, and true 65C is too hot for extended periods of time imo (55C would be marginal). I would first verify that your exact mainboard with the bios you have runs 10c hot. I would email Asus, and still, I would reseat the CPU, but onoy after I did some research about your board model and boios. See what temps others are getting with the same setup. Make sure your intake fan in your case is actually pulling air in, and the rear fan is exausting air. I would run a temp monitor lime MBM5 and compare to your bios too.
