do any of you believe he may not of commited suicide?
of course, without knowing any of the facts for myself (of which kurt and courtney love only truely knew at the time, what we know is what they have let out), it may be possible that he truely did not kill himself. there does in fact seem to be a few discrepencies between what the media reported and what this P.I. reported.

I saw him this morning at starbucks, he was talking about playing shuffleboard with eddie vedder down the street.

He died and his medicore band was thrust into the spotlight while much more talented grunge bands received little credit. His music is ok at best.

Whether he was murdered or he killed himself doesn't really matter at this point other than it would be fun if Courtney Love got thrown in jail for the rest of her life... although I think her life is already more terrible than even that punishment could ever be.

My "take" is that he died many years ago...if the police suspected foul play I assume they would have followed up on it. If they didn't then I guess we'll never really know the truth will we.

Either way, who cares? He's still dead and I don't see his ex-wife as a huge threat to society so again...who cares?

i did let it go, and it never bothered me like some hardcore kurt fans. it wasn't my time period when he was alive, i've known the Nirvana music only after his death. i was too young to really follow that stuff then.

Supposedly he killed himself with a shotgun while overdosed on...hell I don't remember. I'm just going by memory, but could you put a shotgun in your mouth and use our toes to pull the trigger while on that many drugs? I can't even walk straight when I'm drunk.

A little fishy to me, but unless Courtney Love admits it, we'll never know.

Shoved into the spot light?

Smells like Teen Spirit was the number one song in the world at it's peak while he was still living.

I don't think his death could be considered the reason for them being in the spot light.

What is said is that he had so much heroin in him that he wouldn't be able to stay awake let alone pick up a shot gun and shoot himself, also they "claim" in some cases that the shot gun didn't have any of his prints on it.

Where did people get this idea? Nirvana was the hottest band in the world for two years before Kurt Cobain died. While you can argue that there were better bands in Seattle, Nevermind got millions of people interested in that scene - people who otherwise never would've heard Screaming Trees or Catbutt or Mudhoney or the Melvins or whoever. And with Nevermind came a huge label feeding frenzy that pretty much guarenteed that anyone in Seattle with a band had a shot at making a hit (except the Fastbacks...nobody cared about the Fastbacks). If any grunge band languished in obscurity in Seattle in 90s, it wasn't because anyone else stole their limelight. There was plenty to go around.

edit: Cobain killed himself. For crying out loud, the guy wrote a song called I Hate Myself and I Want to Die. It's silly to argue about it.
