Kung Fu Fight

yeah, that was a pretty decent clip.. i am actually surprised that he really did know some kung fu.. it was nice how he transitioned to the female horsestances in a liquid manner and wasnt jagged about that.. but he definitely needs more spar time.. he needs to relax a lot.. i studied southern praying mantis for 2 years, and bjj + muay thai for a long time too.. i was actually an assistant instructor, and i can honestly say that nothing beats experience.. no matter how many techniques you know, or how great you are at doing your reps of the move, if you cant pull that off during live combat, be it on the street or wrestling/sparring, then its pretty much worthless and just flashy. .. flash doesnt defend you, it usually ends up getting you hurt.

the good parts are so short and sweet, there's an animated gif there waiting to be made

I think the kid was more lucky than anything, the other kid had no idea either. He started flailing as soon as the kid got close, and froze up. Didn't move around anymore.

I agree on experience, nothing tops it. I've seen black belts fall to a joe off the street, mainly because their teachers focused on the flash and style then sparring. I haven't studied any Kung Fu, but I've been practising Karate and a mix of other styles for 10 years. The most common moves I use in sparring are all the basics I learnt as a white belt. Flash gets you nowhere.

Repost. Also, in the original thread about it, there was quite a discussion explaining how the "Kung Fu" dude really doesn't know what he's doing.

Who cares, it's still much more amusing than your every day "wrong forum" posts 😉

I don't post them every day. I haven't posted a single one yet. I rarely ever actually SAY wrong forum. I just link to the correct forum.

Lol, street fighting is a god mixture of tatics and just striking hard in vital areas. Every fight post muay thai, I've learned to telegraph punchs (not many people kick) and be able to block morons that throw haymakers.

Though I don't assuming anything more than a deep boxers stance, more on the balls of my feet.

Honestly if I was the mexican guy(hey I am!) I probably would have gave him a half hearted jumping side kick to the face. The martial arts guy was in a very low stances and most likely wouldn't be able to angle himself properly to defend against a downward attack.

Though I like to kick people. 😉
