Got my PC3700EBram back from OCZ RMA today.. They sent me brand new sticks with new heat spreaders(sealed package).. The ram instantly O/Ced to 240Mhz 1T stable.. after few Bios tweaks I was able to run it at 260Mhz @ 2.9V compared to my earlier 240(Max) O/C on old ram.

Big thanks to BigToe and Sean Sinha, I shipped the ram on 2004-10-28, recieved new today, 2004-01-11.

Love OCZ :thumbsup::thumbsup:

New o/c

EDIT: Link working now 🙂

link no workee.

OCZ support is second to none, especially in terms of overclocking. I mean PC3700 is 233 MHz, which you were able to get with your original RAM, so they could have said it works at rated speed and told you no dice. But it didn't overclock like it should, and they still took it back and exchanged it.

So yeah, they are expensive, but what other company will do that kind of thing?

In my case I bought a 512MB PC133 module for $50 in like 2001 or so. It recently went bad as I tried to relegate it to parent's use. This was Value RAM all the way, and I had mostly been using it with 100 MHz FSB Celerons and Durons. They took it back no questions asked and gave me a stick of PC2700 2-2-2 that I have tested stable up to 233 MHz at 2.5-3-3 with 2.8v. They could have given me total generic stuff, as that was what I gave them, but they didn't. I can't complain about 233 MHz at 2.5-3-3 at all.

and thanks for sharing your pleasant experience with OCZ.

Yeah I have had great support from OCZ. Love the lifetime warranty. I was even able to trade in 4 x 256 for 2 x 512 of RAM😀

we all know that.. but why do you think people pay tad that much for good ram? Companies like OCZ know customer's motive behind paying double the price for their ram. 🙂

True, but have a look at their support forums sometime. I've never seen a company actively support overclocking like OCZ does. They exchange product on a regular basis that have been overclocked. Pretty much the only company where I could buy their product, overclock it to hell and back and feel comfortable calling them and telling them I did exactly that.

They warantee their RAM regardless of overclock as long as you stay within the voltage limits (2.8v for most RAM 3.0v for the EB)

If you take a look at BigToe's(Tony) thread at Xtremesystems, you will see he went to extreme Vdimm's to get 425HTT on his PC3700EB/ DFI 250GB UT(he was testing the board for DFI). I have never seen a company promoting Vdimm booster device and its employees breaking O/C records.. Gotta love OCZ and its staff :beer:

If you go to the link to his webpage in his profile it mentions watercooled and Swiftech 6002. So yea, I'm guessing not air-cooled.

running Prime 95 from last one hour.. no errors or halts so far.. temps steady @ 35C Full loads.

Wow...that can't be air-cooled can it?

yep, thats on water(thanks for filling in Concillian 🙂 ).. But i'm sure it won't be very hard to get these kinda results with a decent HSF.. i have seen Winchester core do 3Ghz with that "Huge coolermaster hsf".

BTW.. Charloscarlies: Nice Sempron O/C 😉 :thumbsup:
