Same place that has the cheap Lenovo NAS units has some other stuff, most related to coin mining, but some like this Kube looks like closeout/overstock type stuff. Site says free shipping with no minimums, but I bought a $55 2TB NAS and added one of the Kube speaker for $6.49, Cal tax, but no shipping cost.

Kube speakers are college specific with about a dozen choices/colors, mine came with less than 20% charge on battery so initially it was making a warning beep. Put it on one of our farm of phone chargers with a USB doctor showing 0.38 amp charge current, then gave it to the wife to play with. She likes it, plenty loud for most, sound quality we both agree is about as good as you could expect. Good enough she was playing music etc for a couple hours.

No issues pairing with my phone, or her phone, Nexus 7 tablet didn't pair, but worked fine with a cord, so we haven't investigated more. Claim is that its BT 3.0 and works over the whole distance of a house, so maybe was still paired or confused by some other device. If you don't have a decent portable speaker, seems like a good cheap get your feet wet option.

I have an iHome mini Bluetooth speaker like this that came for free with a picnic table I ordered from U-Line. Honestly, it doesn't sound that much better than the speaker that's built into my tablet. The RGB lighting is kinda cool, though.

Best sound from a phone or tablet will be earphones, built in "speaker" in many phones etc use a lot of "correction" and do get decent sound, but I find the small externals do an ok job for the times you don't want headphones, and this little Kube is more of a step up, entry level maybe, to the much better much more expensive external speakers.

When I checked back to get a URL to post I also noticed they have some Medon (something like that) audio products a cheap USB LP turntable, and $25 larger BT speaker. If when I order one of the larger NAS units I may try the larger speaker.
