I have read several posts on various places that If you are not using IDE2 and Serial Ports, it may be a good idea to turn them off on the KT7Raid. I am wondering what the advantage is to turn them off and where exactly you would do it on the KT7 raid... I am running Windows 2000?

Further...

With my ongoing overclocking escapades, I always seem to get hung up with my mouse freezing, anyway long story short. I am wondering if there is any advantage to disconnecting and/or disabling the two extra USB ports that came with the ABit board? Are the addin PCI USB's using any different resources than the ones on the motherboard and if so how would one proceed in doing this?

Thanks

You can't seperately turn off the on board USB for the KT7, it's either all on or all off. Yes your above board USB ports are using resources. As zzzz said enabling and disabling on board ports is done in the bios, mostly in the integrated peripherals section.
