I just built a KT7A, Duron 800 system for my brother. I would like to overclock it as high as possible, while keeping it stable. Does anyone have a similar system? What is the best way to overclock it? I only have one fan on it now(in the front bezel)in addition to the power supply fan. I am going to add three more fans. Two for exhaust(Back & Top), and one on the side blowing on the Graphics Card. I've never overclocked before. If I changed the FSB to 133/33, would that be the best way to do it? Would the Duron 800 then run at 1064? Can it handle that speed while maintaining stability? I have PC133 CAS2 RAM from Crucial. Thanks for any suggestions. Vielen Dank.

My experience with overclocking the Duron is that hitting 1064 is a long shot. However, the Abit KT7A should have plenty of settings in between 100 and 133 you can try. For best performnce you should try to unlock the cpu so you can lower the multiplier and kee[ the fsb high. That will give you the best performance.

You'll probably need to bump up the CPU voltage to 1.75v, which is a typical voltage for an Athlon.

My Duron 800 on ABit KT7A-RAID hits 1000 easy with stock cooling (though I recommend a better cooler, and I will get one soon myself) and 1.85 voltage. I have used 10x100 and 7.5x133, both run great. I've unlocked the chip with radio shacks Circuit Writer pen (available online only).
