I won an athlon xp 2000+/mobo combo today at one of amd's street promotions, and found the mobo to be one i am unfamiliar with.. model is GA-7DX, I believe it is made by gigabyte. i'm currently running an athlon 1.33 on an abit kt7a-raid board, and am wondering if i should run the 2000+ on my current board, or if there is some advantage to using the other board. i have had minimal problems with my kt7a (compared to other horror stories), and would prefer to keep with a comfortable board (and the raid arrays are a nice bonus). is there any reason why i should use the GA-7DX with the 2000+? will the 2000+ work properly on the kt7a board? any insight/opinions are appreciated.

I used to run the ABIT KT7A-RAID and I was very happy with it. Now, I felt the urge to go DDR so I went Soyo, but I think this will solve your problems:

1. Go to ABIT's homepage and see whether (can't see what would stop it) the board can run the 2000+
2. Do a search on the phorum about your GA-board and see what ppl say about it.
3. When you've done that, sell both together with the RAM and old CPU and get a good DDR solution
;)
