kt7a Raid unstable in open-gl

I have got a kt7a-raid system, t-bird 1333, and a geforce 3, and the machine is rock solid, until I run something heavy in graphics rendering (usually open-gl). I am dual booting Mandrake Linux 8.1 and win98se, both OSes crash/lock up constantly when running games like RTCW, quake and UT. I am running the most recent detonator drivers and open-gl drivers in windows, and Linux is also up to date on Nvidia drivers. I have heard something about 4k paging requests causing corruption with the agp bus on T-bird procs, but disabling it hasn't improved stability. My t-bird has a big ass swiftech mc462/delta fan on it and the temp never gets very high but the machine still crashes in games. I am convinced it is a hardware issue (because it locks up regardless of operating system) but what? Has anyone had this problem or something like it? I am not sure if it is a bad geforce card or a flaky proc or perhaps an interaction of the two....

I would suspect power or heat....you sure the HSF was mounted on properly......
It could be issues with the Board and power.......Could the GF3 be Over heating?...

I believe the heat sink is secure, the temp generally doesn't exceed 118 F. I have tried changing the PS, but it made no difference. As for the geforce overheating..... I am not sure, right now it is my prime suspect, I really don't have another card to swap in and try, but it isn't overclocked and the fan is functional. How might I find out if it is overheating, aside from perhaps touching the gpu?

Update bios, get a new fan, the Crystal Orb or the Blue Orb for the GF3, install new via 4.38 drivers, use the 27.40 drivers
That's what I did and it runs sweet especially after I ditched the stock fan on the GF3

Hmmm, I dunno. I must say I am running Linux vast majority of the time, so there is not much I can do from a VIA standpoint, they don't seem to offer much support in the way of supplying any drivers themselves, I have flashed to the newest mobo drivers. But as for another heat sink for the geforce, is heat really a big problem with these cards? I don't have a problem replacing it if it is, but I don't want to go to the trouble if it isn't likely to solve my problem. This stablity problem is so strange, I might get an hour into a game before a crash one time, and then the next time I don't get five minutes before a kill signal 11 or seg fault or BSOD.
