KT7A + IRQ problems...

I just set up an ABIT KT7A-RAID system with the following PCI devices:

ATI-TV WONDER tv tuner
2x Intel 10/100 nics(ones a few years old, ones brand new)
Soundblaster Live! Platinum

The TV Tuner card seems to do fine in PCI SLOT 1, which shares with my ATI Radeon video card in the AGP slot. Slots 2 and 3 share, and slots 4 and 6 share. Slot 5 shares with the Highpoint raid controller. Now, the SB Live! doesn't like to share an IRQ with anything. Neither do the NICS. What do I do?? I've tried just about every single combination, no luck. Anyone else out there with a similar setup? I've been tryin to get this all night and it's really pissing me off. Please, anyone with any input at all, respond.

thanks,

First off "The answer is I don't know why there is 6 pci slots" . This I heard on another forum, so don't take this as verbatim but the author really seemed sharp. The Raid controller is bus mastering PCI device 1, that means you can only have 3 more bus Mastering PCI devices. The controller is only set up to handle 4 total. Which is what I assume ACPI is for, but your cards have to support ACPI for it to work. Same with your OS. IF you run a non ACPI OS like NT or 2000 with SP1, then you got your 3 PCI card limit and nothing can be used in slot 5 ever with non ACPI OS. It looks like you are trying to run 4 PCI cards, I would think ACPI would handle it but you would have to call manufacturer or go to the manufacturers (VIA) website and research. Cause I think with all the problems people been having with PCI cards and the KT133/a chipset they woulda worked it out better. I think its the same issue/next generation of problems that plug & pray had.

So another words you're saying there's nothing I can really do? I'm really pissed off about this because I need 2 nics and a TV tuner. Would I be better off if I got a different motherboard?

I just visited Paul's Unofficial KT7.... the link from Surfhead. Under sytem instability, you find everything you wanted to know about pci and was afraid to ask. And the situation looks grim for you :( Let us know if you get it configured. But it looks like maybe 3 problems. First off your AGP card may/may not be able to share and IRQ. In other words, your TV tuner in slot 1 may cause your agp to slow down or have other problems.
It also says that your sblive and the nic cards don't like to share an IRQ. So that leave's you putting your soundblaster in slot 5(which is shared with your Raid controller, which may or may not cause problems.

Sorry I can say do this and wala its fixed :(

Didn't work...I'm really pissed off. If I were to get a different motherboard, would that help? There's gotta be some people out there with 2 nics, a tv tuner, and a KT7A. anyone? I really need some help guys..come on. I also tried getting an ISA nic and I feel really stupid, but I can't get the damned thing in.
