KT7A/Athlon XP question

I read something recently (think it was linked through overclockers.com) about issues with the pre-1.3 KT7A boards having serious problems running Athlon XP processors. Abit's site now has a new BIOS update for the 1.3 boards to officially support Athlon XP's. Has anyone heard of or experienced problems running pre-1.3 KT7A boards with the Athlon XP or heard if Abit plans to release a BIOS update to support them? Thanks.

Apparently they're not going to. Guess my next upgrade will be to a DDR setup.
