Thinking about this only because my friend has a KT7A he doesn't need. IF I swap, do I need to set all the bios settings the same on the KT7A on the first boot?? Other than that it should be just fine- right (both can use the same bios/VIA drivers). If this is going to cause a reformat I'm not really interested. Any input is appreciated.

You should be fine w/o format.
I've used to swap btw MSI kt133 and kt133a, btw Asus kt133a and kt266a w/o format.
If the manufacturer offers same bios for both, then should be no problem also.

Went from a KT7 Raid board to a KR7A Raid board fine with no format. Had the same drivers loaded already, windows just redirected everything and all was fine.

Do you think my SBLive! would be a problem?? It has an IRQ reserved right now due to the sb16 emulation.

Why don't you try to disable the sb emulation?
I had a issue with it on Win98se, after I disabled it, everything was fine.
