kt7-raid mobo questions...

1. why does maximum pc prefer, along with other sites, an asus a7v over a kt7-raid?
does the a7v perform better in real life situations?

2. what is the best bios version to install? i have heard that people have had problems
installing the new wt bios version, and something about there being two different
versions of it... what IS then, the best kt7-raid bios?

3. what are the best settings for the kt7-raid's bios?

4. what is the best way for setting up the raid with the mobo?

thank you all in advance...

Never liked Maximum PC so I can't answer that. The general thoughts around here are:
MSI has the most stable board.
Abit and Asus have nice boards featurewise but some people are having problems with them.
I think that sums it up.
I have a kt7raid board that I bought and love it. I'm using the extra channels but not in a raid setup. I have not updated to the new bios since my board is working just fine right now. (If its not broke, don't fix it.)
A friend just bought an a7v and loves it. He however had to sacrifice two ISA cards and is still running without sound. (annoyign when playing Diablo2 with him)
If you take your time when setting it up, you should have no problem with any of these boards. I use the Epox baords at work and they are nice and simple to work on.

Anything wrong with the Soyo SY-K7VTA-B? I see Anand didn't give it a great review, but I've read other reviews that make it look like a really nice board, especially for the price (around $110). I have a Soyo SY-6BA +IV now (BX board) and it's the best mobo hands down that I've ever had. If the K7VTA-B is anywhere near as good, it should be awesome.

tahnks for your reply guys...
any other suggestions?

yes, msi seems to be the most stablest.. soyo? not sure.. can you give me the specs?

thank you all once again...
