KT7-raid and win2k installation problems

i'm having a problem booting off the win2k cd so that I can install the OS. when it boots it says "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration" and locks on that screen.

i'm installing the OS to a scsi drive and i've disconnected all IDE drives for the time being. does anyone have any idea how i can resolve this problem?

Probably just an IRQ problem. Try removing all PCI/ISA cards execpt your graphic card and start your Win2k install after that.

When it's done insert and install one card after another.. so you know for sure, which card is causing an IRQ conflict, if it is one.

i solved the problem... it was a very strange solution.

win2k works some werid ass way... it saves the boot.ini and some other vital boot files onto a separate drive. when i activated the raid on the board, that somehow offset the drive naming structure. it would look for the boot files on raid drive... but it couldn't access that drive or the controller hardware for that matter. when i turned off the raid things seemed to work alright.

i tried a reinstall and this time I hit f6 so that it gave me the option to install a 3rd party raid controller.

after I reinstalled the boot files were on the raid drive and everything started working... well for the most part.

now i'm having a sound problem with my mx300. :/
