:disgust:I recently upgraded to an Thunderbird 700 and KT7-RAID motherboard but my computer keeps on freezing up (when starting a game) because of the sound card. If I take the sound card out everything works. I have done a clean install of win98, Via 4-1 drivers, detonator 618 (tnt ultra) to no avail. Can anyone help?

Verify the BIOS is set to PNP OS.

Tried moving the MX300 card to a different slot?

Does it lockup on all games?

I built a computer around Christmas time, and since it was born it has been full of lock ups. Today, I removed the MX300, and it seems to be working fine. Is there an issue with this card and certain PCI slots and\or certain IRQ's it needs to be at?

The machine freezes on all games and even once for the start up windows chime and other sounds. I have tried everything now even what you sugested but still no luck. I found someone on another forum with exactly the same problem and their solution is to buy a new sound card and I think I'll try that.

Thanks anyway.:)
