I am looking to build this system based on the
KT7 RAID/AMD TB 1.0GHz MB. I do mostly business
and home things on the PC, but used to be an avid
MS Flight Sim, X-Plane user. Would like to be able
to run some games and use the PC till some reasonable
priced 5-10GHz MB come out.

I am getting the All in Wonder so that my wife can
upload future digital camcorder/camera pics with
the connector...but part of me says to get a decent
$100 card and add digital connector when it's needed.

I have scoured the forums and net in general for
info and i don't think there are any glaring incompat-
abilities, but i thoght i would ask the semi-pros for
any input they might have.

Thanks for any suggestions

I think you're paying too much for the kt7 raid, I got mine for 145. (unless that's the kt7a...

otherwise, looks like a killer system!

That All-in-wonder has a marginal graphics chip at best. If your video projects are more important than gaming then that card should be fine. The only difference between the SBLive x-gamer and the SBLive Value is that the xgamer comes with a couple of games. If you don't want the games get the value, it's cheaper and the exact same card. What brand of memory??? I wouldn't buy the Generic stuff. Mushkin, Corsair, Micron or Samsung all make decent memory. If you're going to do video stuff you may consider a 60-80 gig HD, it doesn't cost much more and you could fill up a 45 pretty quickly. Those are just my thoughts. Good Luck.

thanks for responding...a few answers...

- the motherboard/cpu comes with a 3 warranty, and
decent tech support...this is my first major build

- thanks for the info about the card... i think i might
have to rethink the card and get the Digital camcorder
connection when i actually need it...now i have to look
for a decent sub $100 video card...

- i think the value is also missing the Dolby 5.1 supprt...
which is probably fine in that i won't sit in front of
the PC to watch a DVD...maybe i'll save some money and
spend it on a DVD/Sound for the TV. or more hard drive \
as suggested.

thanks a lot for th info and suggestions!

Crucial is good also. Sub $100 Video???? that's going to hurt. I would go with a GeForce MX. I think they go for about $110. Maybe someone else knows where you can get them cheaper. The MX is the lowest you should go if you are gaming, anything less is going to cause a serious performance loss. The Value and the X-Gamer are the exact same card (someone back me up on this, I think I'm right). Digital camcorder connection?? You must be talking about Firewire (IEEE1394) That would be the better way to go for video editing anyway. I should have put that in my first post.

The Value and the X-Gamer are the same, but he stated the X-Gamer 5.1 (which is the newer model, not the same as old ones or value). As for sub-$100 video, some people will probably flame me for this, but if you're really looking to save some money just get a TnT2. It's an older card but still runs games alright and still has excellent driver support from Nvidia, and they're going for pretty darn cheap right now.

As MGMorden said the TNT2 was good in its day and would probably work, but for the $50 more the MX would last alot longer. If you are thinking of playing Unrealtournament I would definately get the MX. If you really can't spend the extra $50 the TNT2 will do the job.
