KT7/KT7A & the new 1.3GHz TBirds...

I've been reading the reviews of the new Athlons.

Anandtech
Aces Hardware
GotApex

They mention the compatibility with the KT7 (which I own). How do they run the chip at this speed? Do they have a special BIOS. The YH BIOS for the Abit KT7/KT7A boards only goes up to 13x. Or do they mod the chip (connecting bridges)?

Thanks!

Well, first of all, you need to realize that most people are gonna lower the multiplier and use higher FSBS on those chips.. So anything over 13x isn't really needed.

If you have a KT7 board (or any other KT133) that only supports a 100MHz (200MHz effective DDR) then you would need the 13x multiplier. On my board I am able to get up to 106MHz (212MHz effective DDR).

I'm just wondering if or when this BIOS will be released.
