Has anyone tried to add the "Disable ACPI" to their KT7 BIOS using "modbin6" as described in the Apushardware.com KT7FAQ?

I'm using Win98SE and can't disable ACPI without re-installing--which I don't want to do. If I heard some success stories, I'd be more inclined to try it.

Yes I did it, but I also did a fresh install of Win98SE using the "/p i" switch also. You should be able to disable it in the BIOS with no problems. Some people have disabled it and had no problems until they tried to re-enable it and they ended up having to reload the system. Back up your data before you try. If your not having any troubles with your system now, don't even bother with it.

Thanks for the info ZoSo.

My system was freezing up when I had "PNP OS" enabled. I didn't even realize that I had ACPI enabled because I used PowerQuest's DriveCopy to copy my HD data from an old Intel VX motherboard which didn't support ACPI.

Wrong! Apparently it detected the new MB and installed ACPI. Anyway, after disabling "PNP OS" I've only had it freeze up in Delta Force Land Warrior so far. I presume it is because several resources are overwhelming IRQ 11.

I'll see if I have more problems before I go this route.
