If anyone has gotten an Abit KT7 (RAID or not) to work with an SB-Live. Please let me know what your configuration is, if you're using ACPI or not, what drivers, etc. Everytime there is a sound playing and suddenly the CPU has to do something mildly intensive, the sound will either pop or cease for a fraction of a second. If I use 3D Studio Max for example, and resize a sphere while playing an MP3, everytime the sphere changes size, I will hear this crackling noise. Any help is very much appreciated.

It sounds like it could be sharing an IRQ with your video card.
If doing anything video like that has an effect on sound, that's
usually the case.

I'd check your video drivers, make sure your not shadowing your
video bios to ram under your CMOS settings, and check your AGP stuff.

I just recently reconfigured my box so that it wouldn't have ACPI
enabled. I was having conflicts that were crashing my box during
intensive I/O. ACPI has become a very annoying thing. Anything that
removes your control over your hardware is a Bad Thing(tm).
