ok i am having a problem with my KT7 and my NIC i think, this is how things went
1 computer has been fine for over 6 months in this configuration, traveling about 2 times a month to lan parties and doing just fine
2 friday i pack up and leave to go to a lan party, thurs night things were fine
3 get there and everything is all messed up, it takes forever to load and sometimes it won't finish loading
3 i reinstall and everything is fine for the rest of the evening
4 i get home and install a modem, and get on the internet, everthing is still kosher
5 next day, i can't get the modem to work, so i try getting it to work by installing/re-installing, but no go
6 i get back to school, where i left from on friday, and now it is taking forever to load up again, i uninstall and take the NIC and the modem out, it boots fine.
7 i put the nic back in, boot takes forever, won't work with my router, and it won't auto-get an ip, try to specify, and it still doesn't work
8 try another nic, one pci one isa, same results
i'm baffled here, i have heard of the sblive being a problem in some systems that have the 686b southbridge, which i have both, but i haven't heard of any NIC problems. anyone out there have a solution?
