KT400 vs KT333 - will there be a performance jump

Hi there,

I'm on the verge of buying a KT333 board with Kingmax DDR 333, and was just wondering what performance increases the KT400 with DDR400 ram will bring. ie. real world performance. Will it be that significant that it will be worth waiting for another 8 weeks. Thanks again for any comments.

Unless the CPU's change, no. The performace increase from KT266a to KT333 was only marginal at best. Reason for this is that if the CPU to memory bus bottleneck doesn't change from 266MHz (DDR), to 333 or even 400... there is little to no performance gains to be realized, aside from better latencies due to better memory and improved memory controllers.
