besides new features, are there any differences in stability or any major speed differences when doing simple things like Word and Internet? Also, doing the same things, how different is a 400mhz XP vs a 333mhz fsb XP going to be?

Not much difference at all to consider upgrading. The KT600 is faster in memory intenstive applications, and of course it adds support for FSB400/DDR400 and the other features from the VT8237 southbridge.

For gaming and internet there shouldn't be any noticeable difference between the FSB400 and 333 Athlons.
