Hello. I was just wondering about the whole kt333 chipset. Are the pci and agp buses locked or unlocked? If I overclock via fsb, does it also effect the bus speeds of the pci and agp? I have an msi kt3ultra, a kt333 chipset, and before i thoght my ram was holding me back. I purchased a stick of pc2700 memory (mushkin) and it still wouldn't let me up the fsb past 152. I was just wondering, what can be the problem? Maybe the msi kt3ultra has limited overclocking abilities, but is there anyway i can it up to 166 fsb (333 ddr.) Thanks in advance for all of your replies.

looks like you have no 1/5 pci bus divider
the kt333 based boards don't lock the pci/agp buses instead they use dividers and change them at certain speeds

you try just setting it directly to 166 and seeing if that causes it to use the 1/5th pci divider ?

Wow. Advice from the famous soulkeeper. Cool. Well, yah, i just tried upping the fsb to 166. No picture on the monitor. I clear the cmos, and it works fine afterwards. I want 166 fsb DAG-NAM-IT!!! Is there anything I can do about the 1/5 pci divider or whatever? Thanks again.

you can't do anything about it
you have the KT333CD revision that doesn't support the 1/5 divider
OTOH, the MSI KT3Ultra2 has the KT333CE Revision that supports the 166FSB and thus has the 1/5 divider
