Just wondering what the end of the line is for processer upgrades for the various KT266A boards out there. I have a Soyo Dragon plus and their web site lists the 2100 (still) as the fastest processor. A little disapointing to say the least. -NJRICH

The xp2400 or 2600 should work fine on your board with a bios upgrade, if available. The 2400 is overclocking better than expected for some people. The soyo website may have not updated your board specs recently. I would check the bios upgrades.

Well if the BIOSes are still updated, there's no reason why any board that runs XPs shouldn't run up to the 2600+. Power consumption is no higher, so voltage regulation issues don't apply. As seen on ye olde ECS K7S5A, runs anything that has 133 MHz CPU bus ... only the brandnew 2700 and above (and the rumoured lower-speed-grade flavors with 166 MHz CPU bus) won't work.

Have a look at what the BIOS update history for that board says, the spec sheet may not have been updated.

I am experiencing the exact same issue with my Soltek SL-75DRV4, it just says 2100+ on their website and I really want to pickup a new 2400+

WHAT TO DO.......

Actually, I'm also in the same boat with my Shuttle/Spacewalker AK31a. Max CPU will be the XP2100 for this motherboard. Apparently, Shuttle will not be creating anymore updates for this board, from what I've read. I find this very unfortunate because it has been a great board in regards to stability.

there was a change to tbred core and many of the KT266A will not allow higher than 2100...my abit KR7A-RAID claims to work with 2200 with new bios but many have had huge problems with tbred core
