KT266 or AMD760 Chipset?

I don't know about that Abit board in particular, but the performance between the two chipsets is almost the same now so you can look at other factors.
Th big factor that I think should be considered is the number of DIMM slots. The ASUS A7V266 only has two and if you fill those with the largest amount of DDR RAM readily available (256 Mb) then you only end up with 512 Mb total. Most of the KT266 based boards have more DIMM slots than that which gives you greater freedom to add more RAM.
I would also consider boards with the SiS 735 chipset because they seem to outperform the two chipsets you listed and they are now becoming available at lower prices than Via and AMD as well.
Plus the nForce s/b out before the end of the year, so if you can wait for that...

Both boards may be the best in their class. For ocing, KG7-RAID,

1. because of SoftMenu III
2. All KT266 boards have a bug that once the Fsb goes above 138MHz, USB goes out, the only workaround is a PCI USB card.

A7V266 should be a solid board, but it doesn't have the most ocing features, plus the bug mentioned above, but it has outperformed KG7-RAID, but still I think KG7 is a better overall board. Plus, in addition to what Nelson mentioned, KG7-RAID has 4 DIMM slots, but also it supports 4 Unbuffered DIMM's (Unsupported by Abit or AMD though) unlike other 3/4 DIMM AMD 760 boards. But still, I would wait a month or 2 because not only are enthusiast type SiS 735 boards just starting to come out, but also we still haven't seen how nForce performs so i'd wait for nForce benchy's and for boards like the Asus A7S266 (SiS 735) to come out so u can have ocing boards (The only 735 boards are from ECS and Pcchips, while they are both good boards, they don't have ocing features).

It has 3 DDR slots not 2 see :) ,anyway I agree with chipset boards from SiS 735,nForce and the new Via KT266 stepping it might be wiser to wait IMHO.But if you want one now between the two you have chosen I would go Asus.

BTW don`t overlook the Epox 8KHA it`s getting great reviews on stabilty etc.
