KT133A & Raid

I would like the benefit of the KT133A chipset but will never use Raid. Can the Raid IDE Pri and Sec connectors be used for CDROM or internal zip with the new Asus MB ??? Or can they ONLY be used for hard drives even if non Raid ???
Thanks,
Jerry

The A7V133 allows the RAID controllers to either function in RAID 0, or as a standard ATA/100 controller (a jumper selects the mode). Since it's a Promise based controller, you should be able to run your CDROM drives off them. Or if you want to be safe, run your HDs off the RAID controllers at ATA/100 and put your CDROMs on the main Primary/Secondary controllers.
