I'm in the process of uprgading my system and have been looking at a Abit KT7 mobo, I've read that the new 266mhz mobo's based on KT133A chipsets are nearly with us, but I'm unsure about their limits cpu wise.
I'm assuming that these boards will run the next generation of Amd cpu's up to 1.65GHZ.
Is this correct or have I got it wrong?

me too...although by the time it's out the ddr mb's will probably be right around the corner. I must take the plunge and put this system together already! I think I will go with the turbo and the amd 1ghz 266 chip.

We're thinking along the same lines, I'm going for the KT133A becuase of the track record, the cheap ram plus it doesn't seem worth the extra cash for the DDR's performance at this early stage.
What I'd really like is a dual Amd 266Mhz, maybe next xmas someone will make one.
Still confused about the 266Mhz Amd's listed on the Anandtech's price guide, are these Palomino's??

I just posted this in a different thread but thought I would put it here as well...

Got an update from a local vendor I deal with. I had called him and asked about the K7t Turbo and he originally told me he had no idea when it would be out. I stopped in there today to pick up a floppy drive(the one on my server died) and he said he finally had a date on it.

Wanna know? Huh? Do ya? Do ya?

Sorry had to try and build the suspense.

Jan 4, 2001 is when he was told it would be available.
