You'll need to set your m/brd to jumper mode & set the mutlipier on the dipswitches ,otherwise it might not boot......................that's assuming you have dipswitches!.Look at the A7Vtroubleshooting site ,very informative.
I've got an Asus A7V133 v1.01 ,I plugged in a Duron 1.1GHz (morgan core same as XP except cache & Alu interconnects) ,with the cpu locked it booted fine in jumper free mode (it apparently isn't supposed to though!) ,but with it unlocked it stuck at 12.5x multiplier.I could select any muliplier I liked in jumper mode without probs ,but obviously I lost all those lovely FSB options

.So I had it at 9x133=1200MHz.I'm selling the A7V133 & have now got the Duron on an Abit KT7a v1.3 ,the Duron is now at 8.5x145=1233
Oh yeah with the Bios that the A7V133 shipped with it wouldn't get past the PCI device lisiting on bootup with the Duron 1.1GHz!
,fortunatly I was able to borrow my bros Duron 800 to flash the bios
