Hi all,

I was wondering what I'll be missing if I were to get a KT133 mobo compared to a KT133A mobo besides the 133MHz FSB for higher clockspeed.

Thanks.

You're limited to 1300MHz for CPU speed. I haven't heard of anyone getting a 1400MHz for a KT133 board and having it run at 1400MHz without bumping the FSB.

Umm... You would still have to bump the FSB to get 1.4GHz in a KT133A mobo don't you? BTW, what about incompatibilities and stuff for the KT133? I suppose the compatibility is the same with the 133A?

the kt133a does have a faster fsb, its designed to run at 133mhz, but can often overclock to 160mhz+
the kt133 is designed to run 100mhz and the fsb doesnt overclock very well, the most you can hope for is about 110-115mhz fsb

basically there is no good reason to buy a kt133 chipset board.

Gee.. That's low :( I guess I'll stick to the 133A then ;)

or you can get Kt133e based mobo. Abit has one out. It is cheaper than KT133A mobo's and overclocks to better than 140 fsb.

KT133E? That's new to me. Thanks for the tip. Will check it out.
