KT133 chipset plus APPLEBRED Duron?

I've heard ONE report of a person using a Duron 1.6 Applebred in a good ol' KT133 board.

The boards I have will support up to 2200+ processors (according to their respective websites...)

So - anyone else think an Applecore will or will not work?

I don't think it'll take a tbred-B (I'll try when I get home) but it'll take the original tbred.

Still good odds?

Why not just ask the mfr directly? Opinions from the peanut gallery here aren't going to be too helpful unless you can find someone who has actually tried it on your specific mobo(s) - but how are you really going to know if they did or if they're just being Clintionian?..

If I remeber correctly the KT133 only supports CPU's with a 100MHz FSB but supports PC133 RAM. I think you need the A Revision (KT133A) which does support CPU's with a FSB of 133MHz.

Doubt it. I have had difficulty with T-breds and later on an AMD-761-based board, which is one generation newer than the KT133.

Thanks.... MFR's have not been any help at all.

ONE fella' said he was doing it, but I'd take that with a grain of salt. I thought it'd be worth asking around - it would be a nice payoff if it worked. 🙂
