There's very little performance gain with sidebanding enabled -- 1 - 2 FPS in games at best. This was more of an issue with the earlier, 16 MB video cards. If you have a 32 MB or 64 MB vidoe card, I wouldn't worry about it. I have read that if you set the AGP aperature size to 16 MB in the bios, it might enable sidebanding (depends on the video card/system), but the performance will drop.
