KT 400's for overclocking (and KT600 Q)

I know everyone raves about the nForce 2 for overclocking, but has anyone got far with a KT400 based board? On my budget, the KT400 is a better fit. Not looking for massive overclocking, just bumping up a Barton 2500+ on air cooling. RAM will be PC3200 so should be able to cope. (looking at Abit KD7)

Also, what about the KT600? I know they seem to be appearing, but what sort of thing are they capable of?

I know this is almost a motherboard questio, but this forum gets more trafic and it's about the overclocking side of motherboards

8rda+ is $82 +-.You get extra features on the KD7, I assume. No, I don't know the answer r.e. KD7 overclocking.

i first has a KT400 chipset, but was only to get a max of 185FSB.

i'd say you can get a good nForce2 board for the same price. so i'd say get a nforce2 mb, it's a better investment in the long run.

I've got a KT400 based m/b, the FIC AN19E. It has SATA and IDE RAID both. While it's not great when attempting to oc the FSB much, probably due to a PCI or AGP speed issue, but it's just about always possible to bump the multiplier up at least 1x. The 2500+ I've got in it now is running just fine at 166x12 for 2000Mhz, with the stock hsf, and stock volatage. I'm using PC3200, but am running it in sync at 333 at 2-2-2-6. Much the same can be said for the Pally and Tbred chips I've had in it in the past.
