Could be a refresh rate problem with your monitor, what driver are you using for your monitor? If your using the windows default monitor driver then I suggest you get a proper driver for your monitor so everything is setup correctly.

Have you tried altering the screen using the controls on your monitor?

Ahhhh...i have an old NEC 14" Analogue (laugh all u want im cheap as sh!t)its setup as a default 1024X768....im not sure which NEC monitor to use so i never do
as for hte screen size it does no good

<< AHAH! fixed it i think...640X480 isnt sqaushed up and hte sides arent curved hehe thanks heaps >>

how did you fix it? incase other users have a problem!

Many cards initially set to optimal refresh rate, which was probably too
much for his monitor to handle. Switching to adaptor default, or 60hz,
usually corrects that type of problem.

sorry...i fixed it by not using the default 1024X768 driver provided with windows...i messed around with the NEC monitors and found the one that didnt anihilate 640X480 and its sweet so far..not that i play in 640x480 but some games have a 648x480 menu and it looks total gimp

thanks uknem for suggesting that
