A few years ago KROQ decided to start playing Metallica. I thought that was pretty bad until they started playing Eminem. That's just plain absurd. I think KROQ is trying to be a lot more of a mainstream station than they used to be. I miss the old days...

I agree. I also miss Y107. I still remember waking up one morning and hearing spanish music playing on the station. I thought it was a joke. Sadly, it was not.

Oh man, I loved Y107, way better than KROQ ever was. Sucked when they went spanish. Though I have to say Chris Carter's last show (the last english show on Y107 period) was rather cathartic, a ton of people calling in bitching out KROQ. LOL, very funny stuff. Kind of odd they even let him do it since they were DJ-less for days before it.

Ah well, rock radio in the US is in a sorry state. I live in the Bay area now, Live 105 will probably be dead in a few years, their ratings are slipping and Stern is leaving for Sirrius. It would be funny if they put Kevin and Bean on to replace Stern (think they are both infinity stations).

Yeah, Y107 was pretty cool. The only thing good about KROQ nowadays is their flashback lunch. But even that show can suck at times. That's why I listen to Indie 103.1 and 89.9 now instead.

Anyone remember Mars 103.1?

I hated it when 103.1 switched from electronic to indie music.

Although I liek indie music...they had to sacrifice an electronic music radio station!

Oh man the audioslave portion was hella cool. They did some rage against the machine songs. It rocked.

Portions of the webcast will be posted on kroq.com website in a few days i think.
